‘Sick and deranged’: Dem argues YOUNG girls should ‘make their own decisions’ about their bodies

A Washington state Democrat has ignited fresh outrage as previous comments about girls’ bodies and parental rights have caught social media attention.

As the left continues its push to take over parents’ roles in their children’s upbringing, comments by Washington State Senator Jamie Pedersen in 2025 have sparked renewed criticism on X, where a Fox News clip was posted.

“Women have, if they’re old enough to get pregnant, they’re old enough to make their own decisions about what happens with their bodies, okay?” said Pedersen, who is a member of the Democrats’ LGBTQ Caucus.

“And parents do not have the right to change that or make a different decision, or be notified in advance,” added the Senate majority leader, as seen in the clip that garnered a reaction from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who called it simply “sick & deranged.”

“Just to put this is context: my daughters both developed early. They started their periods at ages 8 and 9,” one X user noted in response to the clip circulating online.

“According to this man, they were both old enough to make their own medical decisions and I would have no right to know anything because they were ‘old enough to get pregnant,’” the post continued, adding, “8 and 9 years old. Just remember that. Neither one of them could make that kind of decision. They got their periods, yes, but they were in second and third grade and neither could decide what they wanted for breakfast that morning, or what color dress to dress their DOLLS in because they were still babies playing with dolls themselves-but old enough to get pregnant so what does mom need to know anything for? Yikes.”

Pedersen is running for re-election, representing Washington state’s 43rd district since 2013.

“Pedersen was Lambda Legal’s lead counsel on marriage equality and sponsored the bill that legalized it in Washington. He helped abolish the death penalty. He wrote privacy protections for transgender residents and expanded access to abortion medication,” according to mynorthwest.com. “This spring, he was the lead architect of the millionaire’s tax, the first income tax in state history. In most of the country, that’s a progressive hero’s resume.”

Social media continued to reverberate with reactions to Pedersen’s disturbing views.
