Last night, KTLA TV news (Los Angeles) reported that the suspect of the attack in the lobby where the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner was held was a SoCal man.
He was identified as a 31-year-old teacher from Torrance in Los Angeles County. At the time of the report, the FBI and Torrance police were on the scene of his known address.
The event at the Washington DC Hilton Hotel was attended by President Donald Trump on Saturday night. The attacker charged toward the ballroom in a chaotic encounter with Secret Service agents, as guests dived under tables at the sound of shots being fired.
It is thought that the shooter was a guest at the hotel.
A Secret Service agent was shot in the attack, but he survived.
Hundreds of journalists ducked under their tables during the incident.
President Trump wanted the event to go on, but he agreed that it be postponed.
