Actor Rainn Wilson takes aim at Democrats in Fox News interview

Actor Rainn Wilson called out political hypocrisy and blasted Democrats for intentionally ignoring Maine Senate nominee Graham Platner’s tattoo and growing list of scandals.

The former star of “The Office” unloaded on the current hypocrisy in both the Democratic and Republican parties during an interview with Fox News Digital, pointing to Platner and his Nazi tattoo as an example of double standards.

“The political right is all up in arms about that ‘Oh, he’s a racist, see,’” Wilson said. “But they won’t look at their own side when people show racist tendencies or say racist things. And it’s the same on the left.”

“They’re willing to overlook the Platner Nazi tattoo, but if it was someone from the other side that had a tattoo that was questionable, they would be all over MSNBC about it,” he explained, referring to the Senate hopeful’s infamous Nazi “Totenkopf” tattoo.

“It’s the hypocrisy that gets me the most. It’s the hypocrisy of like, both sides need to have, kind of, equal standards of behavior,” Wilson contended.

The actor, who played Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” believes the show would not survive in today’s culture of political and social division.

“I do feel like you couldn’t make The Office today,” Wilson said. “I think that would be too hard to be as politically incorrect as the show was. And I do, I do kind of miss that.”

“We milked that for a lot of great, really inappropriate stuff,” he added. “But even with the fact that painting that character as just an idiot, I don’t think you could get away with it today.”

One Democrat not afraid to buck the party line and call out Platter is Sen John Fetterman (D-PA).

“Well, he lied to everybody. He said that there wasn’t any after his Nazi tattoo situation. And now there’s more and more of the things. So he’s already lied about that,” Fetterman told Fox News earlier this month. “So I assume, you know, it’s like they say, for every ranch you see in Texas, there’s 50 that you haven’t seen. So I’m sure there’s plenty, a lot more ranches in P-Hustle’s life.”
