CBS News made the case for illegal immigration in an effort to slam former President Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan.
The network’s “60 Minutes” pulled on heartstrings with a report focused on “normal” families who have come into the US illegally and are afraid they will be deported if Trump returns to the White House.
In a series of posts on social media, clips from the “60 Minutes” episode highlighted the emotional plight rather than the issues.
“We are like a normal family, like anybody else, right? We go to church. We work, every day. We pay taxes,” says Monica Camacho Perez, who teaches English as a second language in Baltimore. (1/3) https://t.co/qzLARPq7Tl pic.twitter.com/BFj0Saghyu

“We are a normal family, like anybody else,” Monica Camacho Perez said in the segment. “We go to church. We work every day. We pay taxes,” she said.
She and her family have reportedly lived and worked in the US since arriving illegally from Mexico more than 20 years ago.
Not addressed by the CBS show were the effects of the massive illegal immigrant population, such as the cost to care for them, the rise in crime, as well as the strain on local governments. Instead, the show offered commentary from those like Jason Houser, former ICE Chief of Staff under President Joe Biden who claimed Trump’s mass deportation plan “will not make us safer.”

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio spelled out the reality recently.
“So imagine if you’ve been working here for 40 years and your Social Security check is smaller than the benefits going to a 28-year-old, able-bodied person who just got here,” he said. “That’s real. That happens. That’s happening every day. That makes no sense.”
This is Kamala Harris’ America
Senator Marco Rubio shows Americans “They’ve worked here their entire lives. They retire. They get $800, $900, a $1,000 a month from Social Security. — Somebody who just got here from Cuba 3 months ago — is given $1,500 a month”

The “60 Minutes” clips posted on X to promote the show only sparked criticism and ignited the anger of Americans. Even an attempt to show Trump’s policy plan in a bad light did not have the intended effect as Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, dropped a brutal reality check.
Cecilia Vega asks: “Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?”
“Of course there is. Families can be deported together,” says Tom Homan, head of ICE during Trump’s family separation policy. https://t.co/If9G1sNEzj pic.twitter.com/TIWhi25Vdu

“Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?” correspondent Cecilia Vega asked Homan.
“Of course there is. Families can be deported together,” Homan replied.
Notice how The System is already prepping the ground to resist mass deportation?
The only question is if Trump can withstand the pressure this time in a way he could not last time.
We shall see. First, we need victory in November. Then we’ll see. https://t.co/H7yzPI5x1W

The overall attempt to slam Trump’s border plans backfired as social media users weighed in on the alleged separation of families.
Nope.
Normal families don’t illegally break into another sovereign nation.
Come legally or don’t come.

Not deportation: family reunification in country of origin.
Operation Homecoming.

I’m a legal immigrant.
I EARNED my citizenship.
It pisses me off that these freeloaders get for free what we worked ten years to gain.
It’s a slap in the face to all Americans.

I don’t ever recall you doing an episode on the flood of illegals crossing the border.
Maybe if you would’ve done your job 3 years ago, highlighting the fact that millions were coming here illegally, and put pressure on the Biden/Harris admin, we wouldn’t be in this position!

Mass deportation is exactly what we need to make America safer. Illegal immigration strains our resources, increases crime, and undermines our legal system.
A nation without borders is no nation at all.

60 Minutes is purely an hour long infomercial for Kamala Harris

She has had plenty of time to become a citizen, but chose not to. The same with all the adults in the home. If you’re not a citizen, you’re an illegal. She should be forced to go back to her home country.

They seem like a very nice family. But they’re not a normal family like anyone else. They broke the law to get here. They’re breaking the law to stay here. I wish them well when they go back to their country of origin.
